InSight Development Environment
Ember's InSight Development System dramatically shortens design cycles by uniting sophisticated network developement and debugging tools. It begins with the silicon-based InSight Port, a collection of minimially-intrusive hardware debugging features on the EM250 and EM260 SoCs. InSight Adapters bridge the InSight Port to developer's PCs via an ethernet connection, where the InSight Desktop Network Analyzer enables rapid development and debugging. The C-based xIDE development environment enables EM250 application development. Bundles of these tools and development board are available below for each of Ember's chipsets.

InSight Desktop
The InSight Desktop network analyzer allows rapid programming and network debugging of customer applications. By combining a packet sniffer with unique network analysis features, API tracing, and a virtual UART, Desktop dramatically shortens the development cycle.

AppBuilder
Ember provides all the components required for developers to deliver complete products ready for “ZigBee Certified Product” testing and designation. Going beyond network interoperability at the stack level, ZigBee Certified Products offer assured interoperability against specific ZigBee Public Application Profiles defined for specific market applications, such as Home Automation, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, or Commercial Building Automation. Each Application Profile defines a number of standard device types that use messaging described by the ZigBee Cluster Library (ZCL), which provides standard messages and attributes “clustered” by functional categories (i.e. lighting, HVAC, security, etc.).

InSight Adapter
The Power-over-Ethernet enabled InSight Adapter connects to a standardized 10-pin InSight Port on EM250/ EM260 target hardware. The Adapter enables complete network debugging, microprocessor debugging, and firmware programming of target systems. Multiple Adapters can be used to debug multiple network nodes simulataneously

xIDE
Developers writing applications for the EM250 are supported by the xIDE toolchain. Encompasing a C-language compiler, assembler, source-level debugger, and IDE, the xIDE toolchain contains everything needed for embedded application development with the EM250.

RF Evaluation Kit
The EM250/260 RF evaluation kit includes everything needed to assess RF-level connectivity in any environment you choose. This easy-to-use system is ready to go “out of the box” because there is no software programming required to perform tests. For RF evaluation out in the field, the system can also operate battery-powered for convenient portability.
The RF Evaluation Kit can measure the EM250/260 RF chip functionality in normal mode and optionally in “boost” mode for those applications requiring a higher level of RF performance.

InSight USB Link
 Ember’s InSight USB Link is a low-cost FLASH programming device used with the EM250 and EM260 family of RF transceivers. The programmer connects to any PC via USB and to Ember’s Radio Control Module (RCM) via a 10-pin cable with keyed connector.
USB Link kit includes the plug-and-play USB programmer hardware and easy to use software tools that read and write customer applications on any Ember-based radio module including customer-designed devices and standard Ember RCMs.
