Ember Brings You Accelerated Development Pathways for Products with Embedded Wireless Networking
Ember makes it easy for customers to develop products with Embedded RF technology using a standard development pathway. Ember’s straightforward product structure supplies customers with an integrated solution that includes RF chips, EmberZNet ZigBee-compliant embedded networking software, and the tools required to develop and monitor EmberZNet application networks. Some customers take advantage of our expertise in Embedded RF and work closely with Ember throughout their design-in process, others have the resources available in-house to take our developer tools and do it themselves, or work with one of our partners to complete their product. Either way, the Ember team is available to help support your product development.
Development
For customers ready to design products with Embedded RF, Ember provides the InSight EM250 Development Kit (10,000 USD for Full Version and 2,500 USD for the JumpStart version). The Developmen Kit includes hardware and software tools. Ember also offers hands-on training, support and maintenance. This kit provides full documentation on the Ember API (application programming interface) and design templates. The API and templates allow customers to develop products that include the specific characteristics most important to their application, such as highly-efficient routing, very low-cost hardware, battery-power efficiencies, or highly-secure messaging. The InSight Development Environment is designed to help customers create their own PCA (printed circuit assembly) and to incorporate: 1) one of Ember’s RF solutions, 2) an antenna to match the proposed environment, 3) a microprocessor compatible with EmberZNet, and 4) application-specific device components (sensors, actuators, controllers, etc.).
Pilot
In the next stage of Embedded RF development, Ember’s customers expand their applications to a pilot program, often installing prototype product into multiple end-user customer sites. For this phase, the RF modules shipped with the InSight Development Kit are available as standalone modules for pilot testing a complete Embedded RF application.
Design-In
To customers that are in production with devices featuring Ember’s Embedded RF technologies, Ember sells the integrated solution of RF chips and EmberZNet software stack, and licenses InSight Desktop software.
Services and Partnerships
In addition to the standard development pathway, there are additional choices for customers who have limited engineering capabilities, and who are looking for Embedded RF capabilities, engineering services and product partners.
